Description

I bring with me many years of experience in a medical office setting, with some education in the human services field. I was employed in the Hartford, Ct area as a live-in caregiver to a gentleman with Alzheimer's as well as other medical problems associated with aging. This was short lived experience as he had a stroke after 4 months of care due to a discontinuation of his blood thinner medication prior to having a second round of surgery. In addition, I cared for a woman of 96 years in order to provide respite for her daughter, a nurse, with approximately the same duties as the gentleman, She woke up one morning with blurred vision and balance problems and was admitted to the hospital with extremely high blood pressure. After returning to Rochester, I also worked for Lifetime Assistance helping with the care of 5 young women who have different types of disabilities including cerebral palsy and spina bifida along with cognitive issues. My ideal job would provide me with a reasonable salary, along with health insurance benefits. I would be willing to live in with specified time off. Another option would be working and/or sleeping overnight. This would give me the opportunity to pursue other employment during the day. I currently hold a NY health/accident license to sell insurance.
