Description

I have currently been working in a nursing home for the last 4 1/2 years. I have been a Certified Nursing Assistant for almost 5 years. I have and am currently working with Dementia and Alzheimers patients. I have worked in a traditional nursing facilities helping patients that are there for rehabilitation. I assist patients with their ADL's. I feed, clothe, bathe, assist in toileting, transfer from bed to wheel chair and wheel chair to bed, along with providing companionship. It is such a pleasure to sit and listen to them talk about how things were in the " good ol'days ". One day they May be in a good mood, the next they are in a bad mood, you just work around their moods. It is such a joy and pleasure helping and working with the elderly. I have always been told that it takes special people to do the kind of work that I do, and I agree. It does take special people. I am one of those special people.
