Description

I was a CNA for hospice of the piedmont. I started out with the opening of the hospice unit at uva hospital in 1995, then I went out into the field by going to their homes. I would help bathe them, dress, get them up from the bed, fix their meals, light house cleaning or some of them would just want yoy to sit and talk to them. Each patient was different. I cannot do the heavy lifting of the patients anymore due to a car wreck, but this was a job that I loved and regretted having to leave it. If there is a possibility that there is a patient that doesn't have to be lifted totally then this could work.
