Relief Live In Caregiver Needed 

Description

We are looking for a relief caregiver for our 83 year old mother. She currently has a 24 hour caregiver who wishes to be relieved the last week of every month and two weeks over the Christmas holiday 2008. We are desire a compassionate female to assist her with bathing and dressing, use of the bathroom,transitions from room to room, light housekeeping, doctor visits, meal preparation, attending church, and other outings. Your own vehicle, valid driver's license and insurance is preferred but other alternative transportation can be arranged. Mother has had Parkinson's disease for 10 years and is prone to falls, so you must be able to lift her (115lbs.). At the present she is using a walker but will probably be using a wheelchair for outings outside of the apartment. She is a retired RN and mentally sharp. She has several other medical conditions but the main problem is the Parkinson's. The Parkinson's disease has also made her voice very low, so you have to listen carefully,but she has a voice amplifier that helps. She lives in a two bedroom and 2 bathroom first floor apartment, so you would have your own private bedroom and bathroom. The apartment is located on the southern tip of St. Pete Beach and is one block from the beach and across the street from the bay. Her church is directly across the street. Room and board, transportation allotment( if applicable), plus a salary will be the compensation. Salary is negotiable. A background check and references will be necessary.
